Enerpac PAM Series air hydraulic pumps provide compressed-air-powered hydraulic pressure for single-acting and double-acting cylinders. The series combines a twin-air-motor design with manual hydraulic valve control and multiple usable oil capacities for matching the pump to the hydraulic application.
All standard PAM Series pumps in this collection provide a maximum operating pressure of 10,000 psi and approximately 9 in³/min oil flow at rated pressure. Model selection primarily depends on cylinder type, valve configuration and the hydraulic oil volume required by the system.
Enerpac PAM1021 and PAM1022 for Single-Acting Cylinders
The Enerpac PAM1021 and PAM1022 are configured for single-acting hydraulic cylinders. Both use a VM2 manual valve providing advance, hold and retract control.
The PAM1021 provides approximately 0.7 gallon of usable oil capacity, while the PAM1022 provides approximately 2.0 gallons. Select the reservoir configuration according to the total hydraulic oil required by the connected cylinder or cylinders.
Enerpac PAM1041 and PAM1042 for Double-Acting Cylinders
The Enerpac PAM1041 and PAM1042 are configured for double-acting hydraulic cylinders. These models use a VM4 manual directional valve to control hydraulic flow for cylinder advance, hold and retract operation.
The PAM1041 provides approximately 0.7 gallon of usable oil capacity, while the PAM1042 provides approximately 2.0 gallons.
Enerpac PAM1042L Locking-Valve Pump
The PAM1042L is a double-acting PAM Series configuration equipped with Enerpac's VM4L manual locking valve. Enerpac designates locking-valve versions by adding the suffix "L" to the applicable PAM pump model number.
The locking-valve configuration should be selected when the hydraulic system requires the functionality provided by the VM4L valve rather than the standard VM4 directional valve.
PAM Series Twin-Air-Motor Performance
Enerpac uses a twin-air-motor configuration in the PAM Series to provide high first-stage hydraulic flow during rapid cylinder advance. The series provides up to approximately 650 in³/min during the first stage before transitioning to high-pressure operation.
This two-stage performance makes both hydraulic flow and pressure important considerations when matching a PAM pump to the required cylinder speed and operating force.
Choosing the Correct PAM Series Pump
- PAM1021: single-acting cylinder configuration with VM2 valve and approximately 0.7 gallon usable oil capacity.
- PAM1022: single-acting cylinder configuration with VM2 valve and approximately 2.0 gallons usable oil capacity.
- PAM1041: double-acting cylinder configuration with VM4 valve and approximately 0.7 gallon usable oil capacity.
- PAM1042: double-acting cylinder configuration with VM4 valve and approximately 2.0 gallons usable oil capacity.
- PAM1042L: double-acting configuration using the VM4L manual locking valve.
