Enerpac battery powered hydraulic pumps provide portable hydraulic power without requiring an electrical outlet, compressed-air supply or gasoline engine. Cordless hydraulic pumps are especially useful for field service, maintenance, construction and remote applications where access to an external power source is limited.
This collection includes Enerpac SC Series and XC2 Series cordless hydraulic pumps. Both platforms use rechargeable 54V lithium-ion battery power, but they are designed around different reservoir capacities, hydraulic flow requirements and operating configurations.
Choosing an Enerpac Cordless Hydraulic Pump
The correct battery powered hydraulic pump should be selected according to the cylinder or hydraulic tool being operated rather than portability alone. Important factors include required hydraulic pressure, oil flow, usable oil capacity, cylinder type, valve configuration and control method.
- Hydraulic pressure: Match the pump's operating pressure to the cylinder, tool, hose, couplers and other components in the hydraulic system.
- Oil flow: Hydraulic flow affects how quickly the connected cylinder or tool operates.
- Usable oil capacity: Confirm that the pump reservoir contains enough hydraulic oil to complete the required cylinder stroke or tool cycle.
- Cylinder compatibility: Verify whether the pump configuration is designed for the type of hydraulic cylinder or tool being used.
- Valve configuration: Match the hydraulic valve to the required advance, hold and retract functions.
- Control method: Consider how the operator needs to control cylinder or tool movement during the application.
- Battery and charger: Confirm whether the selected pump configuration includes a battery and charger or whether they must be ordered separately.
Enerpac SC Series Battery Powered Hydraulic Pumps
The Enerpac SC Series is a compact cordless hydraulic pump platform designed for single-acting hydraulic cylinders and tools. The SC1201M uses a manual 3-way, 2-position pressure-release valve and a rechargeable 54V, 4.0 Ah Enerpac lithium-ion battery.
Enerpac specifies a maximum hydraulic operating pressure of 10,150 psi for the SC1201M. Hydraulic flow is approximately 115 in³/min at no load, 20 in³/min at 2,000 psi and 12 in³/min at 10,150 psi.
The SC1201M provides 61 in³, or approximately 1 liter, of usable hydraulic oil capacity. This compact reservoir makes the SC Series well suited to portable applications where the connected cylinder or tool does not require a large volume of hydraulic oil.
Enerpac XC2 Series Cordless Hydraulic Pumps
The Enerpac XC2 Series cordless hydraulic pumps provide a larger-capacity battery-powered platform for applications requiring greater hydraulic oil volume and higher flow than the compact SC Series.
XC2 Series pumps use a rechargeable 54V, 4.0 Ah lithium-ion battery and a two-stage hydraulic pump element. The XC2202M and XC2204M configurations use a lever-operated manual 3-way, 2-position control valve and are designed for single-acting hydraulic cylinders and tools.
Enerpac specifies approximately 160 in³/min oil flow at no load, 50 in³/min at 2,000 psi and 20 in³/min at 10,150 psi for the XC2202M and XC2204M pump platforms.
XC2 Reservoir Capacity Options
Reservoir capacity is an important difference between XC2 pump configurations. The XC2202M uses a 2-liter reservoir with approximately 120 in³ of oil capacity, while the XC2204M uses a 4-liter reservoir with approximately 240 in³ of oil capacity.
Select reservoir capacity according to the total hydraulic oil required by the connected cylinder or tool. Larger oil capacity can support cylinders with greater displacement or applications involving greater total system volume, but the reservoir should be sized to the actual hydraulic requirements of the system.
SC Series vs. XC2 Series Cordless Hydraulic Pumps
The SC Series is the more compact battery powered hydraulic pump platform, with approximately 1 liter of usable oil capacity and hydraulic flow suited to smaller-volume single-acting applications.
The XC2 Series provides greater oil capacity and higher hydraulic flow, making it appropriate when the connected cylinder or tool requires more hydraulic oil or faster operation. XC2 configurations are available with different reservoir and control arrangements, so the specifications of the individual model should be checked before selection.
Why Choose a Battery Powered Hydraulic Pump?
A battery operated hydraulic pump eliminates the electrical power cord required by a conventional electric hydraulic pump and the compressed-air hose required by an air hydraulic pump. This provides greater flexibility when working in remote locations, elevated work areas, confined spaces or other locations where external power is difficult to access.
Cordless operation can also simplify setup and reduce the need to route electrical cords or compressed-air lines through the work area. Hydraulic performance requirements should still determine pump selection, with portability considered alongside pressure, flow and oil capacity.
Battery Powered vs. Electric and Air Hydraulic Pumps
Battery powered hydraulic pumps are particularly useful when portability and independent operation are priorities. For applications requiring continuous or higher-duty operation, an electric hydraulic pump may be more appropriate. Where a suitable compressed-air supply is already available, an air hydraulic pump may provide another practical power-source option.
