HF101 Enerpac Hydraulic Oil provides one gallon of HF Series ISO VG 32 hydraulic fluid for powered hydraulic pumps. It is the next package size above HF100 and contains the same blue HF formulation specified by Enerpac for power-pump applications.
Why HF Oil Is Formulated Differently for Power Pumps
Powered hydraulic pumps place different demands on hydraulic fluid than manually operated hand pumps. Enerpac’s HF formulation is designed around those demands, with properties intended to support volumetric efficiency, heat transfer, lubrication and resistance to cavitation. The oil also contains additives that help control rust, sludge, foam and oxidation.
Viscosity is a critical part of pump performance. Enerpac notes that oil that becomes too thin can increase leakage through internal clearances and reduce lubrication, while oil that is too thick can make it more difficult for the pump to draw fluid. HF oil uses a high viscosity index so its viscosity changes less dramatically as temperature changes.
Using HF101 During Pump Service
When servicing a compatible Enerpac power pump, use clean oil and prevent dirt, moisture and other contaminants from entering the reservoir. Enerpac identifies contamination as a major cause of hydraulic-oil degradation and notes that water or entrained air can contribute to foaming, corrosion, reduced lubrication and cavitation.
Do not select replacement hydraulic fluid by SAE engine-oil grade. Enerpac specifies HF oil by hydraulic viscosity grade and recommends confirming the requirement for the exact pump being maintained.
