Enerpac block and manifold hydraulic cylinders are compact workholding cylinders designed for integration into fixtures, machines, tooling, and production systems. Their compact construction makes them well suited for applications where available mounting space is limited and hydraulic force needs to be applied close to the workpiece.
This collection includes Enerpac CDB and CSB Series block cylinders along with CSM and MS Series manifold cylinders for positioning, clamping, holding, pushing, pressing, and other industrial workholding applications.
Enerpac Block & Manifold Cylinder Series
- CDB Series Cylinders: Double-acting block cylinders that provide hydraulic force in both extension and retraction for controlled workholding and production applications.
- CSB Series Cylinders: Single-acting block cylinders designed for compact positioning, clamping, pushing, pressing, and fixture applications.
- CSM Series Cylinders: Compact manifold-mount cylinders designed to integrate directly into a fixture or hydraulic manifold, reducing the need for exposed hydraulic tubing and fittings.
- MS Series Cylinders: Compact manifold cylinders for applications where hydraulic actuation needs to be integrated directly into a workholding fixture or manifold system.
Block Cylinders vs. Manifold Cylinders
Block cylinders provide a compact rectangular cylinder design that can be mounted directly into tooling or fixtures. They are useful when the application requires a relatively compact cylinder while still allowing conventional hydraulic connections and flexible mounting arrangements.
Manifold cylinders are intended for more tightly integrated installations. The cylinder mounts directly into a fixture or manifold so hydraulic passages can be incorporated into the tooling itself. This can reduce external tubing and fittings while helping create a cleaner and more compact workholding system.
Choosing a Block or Manifold Hydraulic Cylinder
Start by determining the force and stroke required by the application, then consider the available installation space, mounting arrangement, hydraulic connections, and required cylinder action.
Choose a single-acting design when hydraulic force is primarily required in one direction. A double-acting cylinder provides hydraulic control in both directions and can be useful where powered return, more controlled movement, or faster cycling is required.
For manifold-mounted cylinders, verify the mounting dimensions, hydraulic port arrangement, sealing requirements, and fixture design before selecting a model. Because these cylinders are often incorporated directly into production tooling, installation dimensions can be as important as cylinder capacity and stroke.
